Mir, I've been focused on emergence and related phenomena lately. This is good timing.

Self-organization in particular is on my mind.

I don't want to derail this conversation any, because it's noble and interesting in its own right, but have you dived into "It From Bit" concepts yet? I'm all about it, and it has colored my thinking about how things really work.

Hi Andrew. Hope you are doing well. I like how our "intellectual cycles" align 🤓. I haven't explored "It from Bit" much but I have heard about it before. Wheeler proposed it if I remember right? I will certainly look into it. I think there maybe some good intersections between that and CEMLA. Do you recommend any good material on this?

I'm not sure about the intersections, and I really wish I could find the original video that sent me down this rabbit hole, some time around 2007 or so. Turns out, it is really tough to find a video when you don't know the author or title, and it's not from recent times, but I will keep an eye out for a good reference. I'm definitely still learning all about this framework and can't get enough of it at the moment.

I think Claude Shannon had a "bit" to do with the idea as well, and if you're not already familiar with his story, I highly recommend a deep dive. You will LOVE some of the things he worked on.
