It's interesting: I've heard so much over the last decade or so about why Chomsky's ideas were wrong, especially regarding a "language gene", that it's now interesting to revisit those first principles. Chomsky really got a lot of folks thinking in a different way about how language is formed, and although he didn't nail everything, he did open important doors for discussion.
